The Siberian Federal University (SibFU) is a reputed multidisciplinary institution, which was established in 2006 by merging four universities of Krasnoyarsk city. SibFU is rightfully called the fastest growing university of the Russian Federation. During its existence, the university has made significant progress in Russian and international ratings. The Siberian Federal University was ranked 1589th in the world in 2023 by US News & World Report, 14th among Russian universities in the rankings “Web of Science” and “Ranking Web of World Universities”. Apart from that, SibFU has 4 stars in the QS Stars rankings.

The Siberian Federal University pays great attention to the development of international partnerships and integration into international scientific and educational space. The university is closely working with 60 educational institutions in countries such as: Great Britain, Germany, Spain, France, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Italy, Japan, the United States, the People’s Republic of China, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Singapore, Mongolia and the Republic of Korea. Foreign nationals from 14 countries are studying at the university. Admission of students is conducted by a special selection committee on the basis of previously passed exams. The university competition cannot be called high, because at the same time two people claim for places. SibFU has the second largest number of government-funded students among Russian universities.

The university has the Center for International Education which provides training courses and the state examination of Russian as a foreign language. Moreover, the center helps foreign citizens and stateless persons study Russian as a foreign language for the purpose of entering SibFU.
