Novosibirsk State Technical University was established in 1950. Today, it is one of major education and research centers in Russia. Novosibirsk State University is ranked 579th in Best Global Universities. In 2000, the university was awarded the gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for its great contribution to the development of higher education and the training of qualified specialists.
NSTU has 11 faculties and 2 institutes: Institute of Social Rehabilitation and Institute of Distant Education, 73 departments, 4 branches and 9 NSTU representative offices. A continuous process of learning and implementation of research and innovation activities is carried out in 8 educational buildings.
The center of Information Technologies provides the university with a local network of more than 600 computers. The network has more than 5 km of connections with access to the internet. The university’s library holds a book supply, consisting of the newest books in English, received by the university within the framework of the program TACIS – “Economic Education”. The printing house of NSTU publishes scientific transactions and monographs and provides students with notebooks and school supplies. NSTU laboratories and workshops are equipped with all modern equipment to support the teaching and learning process.
NSTU actively cooperates with foreign universities and has made 25 agreements for cooperation in scientific research, education and culture with universities of America, Germany, France, South Korea, China, etc. Also student mobility is promoted with other technical universities through the Salzburg Seminar, Britain Council, DAAD, INTAS, TEMPUS, EDRUS-TACIS, TACIS. The university attracts teachers from others countries, especially for foreign language training (English, German, French, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Turkish). Experienced teaching staff provide up-to-date teaching to help students become highly-qualified specialists in various engineering areas worldwide.
More than 2000 international students from 40 foreign countries live and study at university’s campus.
They live in the dormitory for international students (with a shower in each residential unit, the shared kitchen and laundry on each floor (for 12 residential units). In addition, for prospective foreign students, there’s an opportunity to get Russian government scholarship and study at NSTU for free in 90 educational programs at different levels.
