Samara Medical Institute was opened in 1930 and in July 1993 the Institute was restructured and renamed as Samara State Medical University. The most noticeable and the oldest faculties include Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Pediatrics, Surgical Dentistry, Traumatology, and Orthopedics faculties.
On average, 500 international students graduate from SSMU every year with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills. 20 countries recognize diplomas from this university.
