Siberian State Aerospace University was founded in 1960. The University was formerly known as Institute of the cosmic technology and Siberian aerospace academy. In 2002, this small academy attained the status of a full-fledged University. Today, Siberian State Aerospace University prepares highly qualified personnel for the aerospace industries and conducts its own research and development activities. According to 2023 RUR rankings, SibSAU took 96th place in Russia and 1120th among the world universities. Besides, it has the license of the federal space agency. SibSAU was also one of the first Russian universities to receive accreditation of its programs in the European Council of Business Education (ECBE) and in the American Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). A distinctive feature of studying at the University is the combination of theoretical and practical classes with the implementation of practical projects at enterprises allowing students to choose a place of future employment from the first years. University has basic partners in educational and scientific projects that open the wide career opportunities for graduates today.

Foreign students can apply for Bachelor (B.Sc.), Masters (M.Sc.), and for PhD degree programs conducted in English Medium. SibSAU has over 20 laboratories and a design school that carries out international programs and summer training in the aerospace field. The dormitory has a perfect location. Grocery stores, cafés, and restaurants with Russian and international cuisine are within a walking distance. The dormitories provide all the amenities for comfortable living: modern furniture, sporting equipment, and facilities for community events. All rooms are renovated and well-equipped with all needed technologies.
