Ufa State Aviation Technical University was founded in 1932 in Rybinsk, USSR (moved to Ufa during WWII). It is among the most advanced technical universities in Russia and one of the oldest universities in the region. The university is situated on a 500-acre campus in Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan.

USATU is a large educational and research complex, consists of 6 faculties and 2 institutes, 7 research institutes, 35 research laboratories, and a military-technical complex, 3 technoparks, 7 educational and scientific innovation centers, 14 research and educational centers, Students’ House, a sanatorium-preventorium, student and sports clubs, a sports and health camp on the Pavlovsk reservoir. USATU has a supercomputer, the USATUSAT space scientific and educational microsatellite, the Center for receiving and processing space information, the Nanotech Shared Use Center, a 3D visualization laboratory, and a prototyping laboratory.

USATU’s degree concentration programs are accredited by the national Education Ministry – the only specialized accrediting agency responsible for academic accreditation of educational programs in Russia. Enterprises not only in Russia but also from all over the world are interested in USATU graduates.

Students of the university live in nine residential buildings of the campus which are fully equipped with required facilities.

Many festivals and traditional evenings are celebrated every year in the University campus to make the environment more conducive for the enrolled students.
